Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty

The flap will be raised off of the nose for maximum exposure and work can now be done to reshape the nasal tip, bridge, nostrils, or septum repair with the specialized ultrasonic tools. Different tool tips can be used to scrape, shape, and soften the nasal bone. The ultrasonic tool allows for more precision and less surrounding tissue trauma. Once completed, the flap will be redraped over the bone framework and external contouring and shaping is completed. The incision will be closed with sutures and an external splint or cast will be placed over the nose.


Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty Recovery


The goal of an ultrasonic rhinoplasty is to achieve facial harmony by changing the shape, size, or angle of the nose. The procedure is avaragely recovered in two weeks, and yet the outcome of this surgical operation is permanent.


The theory is that with less trauma surrounding the nose, the amount of surgical bleeding, post-surgical bruising, swelling and pain from a rhinoplasty procedure are decreased while also creating a more accurate cosmetic outcome. This, in turn, must lead to less need for revision surgery. Current national revision rates for rhinoplasty surgery run over 30 percent.
